A difficult time
I just realized that it's been a month since I've posted anything. Had no clue it had been that long.
If you're of the praying persuasion, thoughts and prayers for my Aunt Maxie and family would be greatly appreciated. Aunt Maxie has been battling cancer for the past 5 years. After 2 remissions and years of chemo, the doctors have finally given up. The cancer has spread to 2/3's of her liver and her lungs. Hospice has been called in, and it's scary how quickly she has gone downhill in just 3 weeks. Honestly, I don't expect her to last much more than a few weeks, if that.
Mom is taking this very hard. Last Friday was the anniversary of my grandmother's death, who also died of cancer, so the timing really sucks. Aunt Maxie is Mom's only sister, and losing her baby sister to the same disease that took her mom is taking a heavy emotional toll on her. It doesn't help that Aunt Maxie looks so much like Grandmother, especially now in the final stages of her fight with cancer.
So, we could use all of the happy thoughts we can get right now.
In happier news, next Saturday marks my 1-year anniversary with Lin. I'm pretty sure a mushy post will be forthcoming next week. :)
