Not a bad start to the month
Thanks to my peeps for a great birthday weekend. Turning 35 isn’t so bad with friends like y’all around. *hugs*
The following randomness and fangirl squeeing are brought to you by the letter R:
- Went and saw Sex and the City Friday night with the girls. I never watched the show, but I enjoyed the movie and it was fun hanging out with the girlfriends. You could have counted the number of guys in the audience on one hand and probably had fingers left over. I got the biggest kick out of the guy sitting behind us because his running commentary during the movie was hysterical. I think he enjoyed the movie more than his significant other. :p
- Going to see Eddie Izzard tomorrow night at the Orpheum (courtesy of
jade_skywalker and
inkedmonkey for my birthday. Thank you!!!!!) with a large group of friends. Yay! Can’t wait!
- While hanging out with my friends this weekend, we were looking at pictures taken last weekend when we went to the cabin and last year when we were in Los Angeles for C4. Lord love a duck. Those pics were a reminder to stop with all of the excuses and get my lazy ass back to the gym.
- I owe Traci and the guys at Comic Cellar BIG time. She stopped by CC to pick up my issues of Dark Times and KotOR Friday afternoon, and they were sold out of KotOR. After she gave me a heart attack, she took pity on me and told me that the guys found an issue for me. Since they went above and beyond the call of duty for me, I can’t buy comics from anyone else now. I’m setting up my hold box the next time I’m in there. Must.have.my.precious.
- Speaking of KotOR……wow! I’ve been a big ol’ pile of mush since I read #29, and my inner Zayne / Jarael shipper has been very happy. I loved the Z/J interaction, but I squealed out loud when she touched his face and said "because you asked first". I’m sure JJM isn’t done screwing with my head over my ship, though. (Meany author. LOL)
I like the way Dazo draws Jarael, especially in the scene where I geeked out because he did a great job of expressing Jarael's emotions. While I’m not a fan of his depiction of Zayne, I won't complain after the god-awful art in Vector.
- Dark Times was awesome. I geeked out over the Zayne / Gryph cameo, and Doug Wheatley’s Vader art is just beautiful.
- When the hell are we going to get the HBP teaser trailer already? The movie is due out in November, and we haven't gotten the freakin' teaser?!
