I finished Reliquary by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child tonight. It was a skimmer until Agent Pendergast showed up. Even then, certain characters had entire chapters dedicated to them for no good reason. They were sucky characters that served no purpose, so I edited them out myself and really wished they'd just hurry up and die or fly off to Borneo. Whatever.
Still Life With Crows = ****
Reliquary = ***
This star rating system is as follows:
5 stars = OMG THIS FUCKING BOOK MIGHT SAVE MY LIFE ONE DAY
4 stars = Damn, I wish I read more books this good.
3 stars = I'm not sorry I read this.
2 stars = I can't believe I read this
1 star = I put this motherfucker down it sucked so hard
Here's the list of the
"Pendergast Novels" in order and the link goes to the authors' official site.
- Relic
- Reliquary
- Cabinet of Curiosities
- Still Life With Crows
- Brimstone
- Dance of Death
- Book of the Dead
I've got all of them but Relic and Cabinet of Curiosities. Damn it, I need those!!! I can't just read the others without having the full back story on Pendergast! He's my new book boyfriend. Yeah, he was a little ill defined in this one, but my book boyfriend does become the star of the series. The writers better not piss me off and kill my genius-badass-emotionally distant-agent man.
