I almost never update this thing anymore. Maybe because I
dont have a slack ass job anymore? Where I can sit around and paint my nails
and play on the internet anymore? And maybe because Matt and I live together
now and I'd rather spend time with him then sit on the internet all night? Well
either way...It's the Holiday's and my office DEAD. Seriously...there is less
than half of the office people here. So that in turn makes me kind of bored. My
boss hasnt been in the office much due to the Holiday's and the recent passing
of his 82 y/o father. It's been rough on him I can tell...but hes a manly man
and doesnt wear his feelings on the outside. His father has been very sick for
a little over a month now, he had two massive tumors in his brain and it was
impossible for them to operate on them. He passed on December 21st.
How's the home life you ask? Great. Well once we get moved
into our new place in about two months it will be. I wont go into discussing my personal feelings about where we
live now on the internet...because thats just a little to much to put out
there, you never know who will read this. But our new place is going to be
great. We dont move till March 1st so we have plenty of time to get everything
ready...ie: furniture, decor and the fun stuff. We did get some nice stuff for
Christmukkah for our new place including...a new vacuum, an electric drill and
some great kitchen stuff, even some hurricane supplies! Especially my new
Immersion Blender, thanks baby! I really want to use all of it…like now. Ray,
the guy who got me my job…he gave us girls in marketing a tv /lantern /radio
/spot light…its for the hurricane so when we have no power we can see the news
and know what’s going on. I thought it was a pretty cool gift.
The best present of all of course came from my baby…I got an
ipod! How cool am I? I’ve been wanting one forever. I wasn’t even expecting it.
He also got me Madagascar and March of the Penguins on DVD. A Michael Buble
mouse pad (for my office at work). Rachel Ray cookbooks. The Immersion Blender.
And of course a bunch of cards…he always buys me a lot of cards…some funny and
some sappy : )
We spent Christmas in Jax with my family (since his doesn’t
celebrate Christmas). We got in late last Wednesday and came home Monday. We
stayed with my Mom at her new townhouse, which looks great. She just moved in
about two weeks ago. It’s just perfect for her. Not to small and she doesn’t
have to do any outside maintenance. She has a 1-car garage and a little
driveway. She bought all new furniture and left all the old stuff at the house
for my brother and Anne. Hobbs enjoyed it too…he had a lot of new stuff to
smell. And he got a lot of presents from his Nonnie (my mom) and his cousins
(Blackjack and Okie).
Matt loves his new job…and he’s apparently a great salesmen!
Probably because he’s such a big flirt…but hell if it bring home a paycheck I
cant complain. He works with his best friend and his sister what more could a
guy ask for? So all in all…the move has been a huge plus for us. And being down
in Fort Lauderdale has been good for us to be close to his family…especially
right now. Matt’s mother has cancer, again. She had cancer last year about now
in her tongue and now has it in her throat. It is the same cancer cell as
before so that is always a good thing. She had surgery a couple weeks ago and
will go through radiation and possibly chemo starting in a few weeks I think.
It’s been rough…especially since Mom is the rock of the family and the rest of
us are just a bunch of babies. But everything will work out.
EDIT: While in Jacksonville I got to briefly catch up with an old Target buddy of mine, Sean. He was losing all his money to my brother in Poker! haha. Sean sucks at poker apparently.
Ok there isn’t much more I can talk about I suppose…. So
I’ll leave you with our family picture for 2005 : )
