There are times in my life when I think "When is my life going to start as an adult". Now many of you are wondering what I am talking about. I am talking about growing up, geting married, starting a family, and so on. I used to think that I would be married by the age 22, now I am almost 29 and still single (though taken). Boxer here, I think James 2: vs14-18 might hold some hope for you. Many Christians believe that God has plans for them. They are right, God does, but the only person that can make those come to pass is us, and in this we serve God. Serving God is hard work and if there’s one thing that this culture does to everyone - it’s that it steals our time. We are so rushed that we often eat in our cars and visit with friends only by cell phone. Reading your journal has helped me reflect on the time that I have let rush by in getting caught up in the race.
It sounds to me like you have a genuinely optimistic but a caring nature. Sometimes one can get caught up caring so much that inaction prevails. It happens to me and I end up second-guessing myself. What I get from James is that we have to energize our lives and move out without fear to obtain our dreams and goals. Easier said then done I know - but from what you’ve said it sound like you have a lot of it already going for you! You have man that you really care for and friends that have tremendous courage- and you know what you want.
I just watched my two best friends have their first baby boy- and no one can look into the face of a baby and deny the miracle of birth. Your time will come - the only trick is to be ready for it when it does.
Listen I know you don’t really like most of the things you have read from me on other sites - so I can understand if you don’t feel comfortable with me commenting on your posts- please just let me know and I give you my word that I will never post a reply again on your journal, either as Anon or Boxer. Or even read it again if you request- I just had some thoughts on this one and since reading your journal has helped me remember some things- I thought I might share.
