Well, it appears that Corie is at it again. It is amazing what getting her out of a lonely house and into a assisted living/rehabilitation center has done. She has baths and regular meals. There are people to talk to and to help her. There is her roommate, a 92-year-old lady who talks of nothing but finding a man.
Now that she is in an environment that supports her Cora's pluckiness is coming back. According to my great-aunt, who goes almost daily to visit, the doctors at the facility have issued a warning to the nurses in charge of feeding the residents. Those in their care are not eating the meals that have been ordered specifically for them - it seems there is an uprising of senior citizens who will have nothing but grilled cheese sandwiches for their dinners!
Sadly this can all be traced back to Cora, who refused to eat anything at all when she first arrived. In an attempt to get her to eat she was asked what she would like and replied 'cornbread and buttermilk'. Well, every resident in the dining hall then demanded to have cornbread and buttermilk as well. Now it has changed to grilled cheese sandwiches, as this is all Cora wants to eat.
Heaven help those poor doctors and nurses - they don't know who they are dealing with!
