Rainy days

Jan 10, 2006 11:21

At last the sky is all gloomy, gray, overcast and a steady (and much needed!) rain is falling. The air is nippy but not uncomfortable and people in the city of Little Rock have forgotten how to drive. Welcome to January.

I'm waiting to hear if the French horn will be ready today or not. There is practice at the church this evening and I'd very much like to have my horn. It only went in for a routine cleaning and to have the strings changed. Auntie dropped it off on Thursday, I would think it would be ready, but then one must remember this is the only place in Little Rock that does repair work on instruments. Bah! Mother remembered her flute, and promptly dropped it in the parking lot on the way in. Thank goodness for hard cases. I think I'll go to practice either way. It will be interesting to hear Kim squawk on her clarinet.

I am alternating between cold and comfortable in my cubicle right now. I found a stash of chocolate in my drawer and have taken to eating it out of boredom. There isn't really anything for me to do. So bored. *eats chocolate*

I'm mentally retracing dance steps in my head from ballet. This would be the class I took three or more years ago. If it weren't for the lack of room and threat of being stuck by a runaway staple I'd stretch out in my cubicle. I don't think anyone would pay any attention, except maybe the new guy in Enrollment. Probably don't want to frighten him on his first day.

And then there is the mystery of lunch. Apparently it is my turn to decide what to get for lunch. I so love the days when I don't have to make the decision. Maybe soup would be good.
