Update on my dating life plus defending Matt Smith...again
I have a date tonight -- holy shit! Mike who I met on EHarmony this month asked me to dinner, and of course I said 'yes'; plus, he's cute and funny -- win/win all around. Even if there's no 'spark', I think we'll be good friends. I'll update this weekend on how it goes. Wish me luck! *crosses fingers*
Now for my rant...I'm putting it behind a cut because there might be some cussing in here. lol
Apparently, something was up with my boo Matt Smith on set, because Twitter is buzzing with comments about him being "rude to a fan while signing autographs". Okay, first of all, Matt is a big ball of sunshiney happiness most of the time, so I highly doubt he was actually rude to anyone -- it just got interpreted that way. Matt's never rude to people, ever! Obviously, there's a logical explanation for his behavior -- he wouldn't just snap like that. Also, from what I saw of the video footage as well as the photos from the set, it was raining and cold, so that must have been miserable to work with.
Either he was upset about something in his personal life, or, he wasn't happy with his performance in front of all those adoring fans, and as a result he got pissed off and snapped at someone. The man's human, shit happens. Now, what's really got me pissed is how quickly people are jumping to the conclusion that because he was a bit cross with a fan it automatically means he's a jerk/asshole/dick, etc. Unless the fan was a small child and he yelled in their face, there's no cause for alarm. If he started treating kids badly, then he would need help. God, this shit will be everywhere in a few hours. The news will spread to Tumblr, then another site/blog will pick it up, and so on and so forth. It'll spread like wildfire and all the MS haters will eat it up like candy -- fuel to the fire.
Did anyone of LJ go to the filming? And if you did, could you give me more details on what went down? I find it very, very hard to believe that Matty would be rude for no reason. Either he was provoked or he was emotional and not dealing with it very well.
I'm a big fan of MS, and I don't want one incident to get blown out of proportion; making even more people hate him. First the NTA thing and now this...oy vey.
Okay, I'll shut up now, but seriously, someone tell me what really happened if you know. I need it for my own peace of mind.
Thank God Matt stays away from the internet, because if he knew what people were saying it would really hurt.
ETA: Just saw some new pics of Matt posing with fans...now I'm confused. I see no evidence of him being mean. Maybe that rumor won't spread after all.
