Jessica stayed over my place this past week. She was just at Sundance and was in New York before going back to Manila. It was fun, all we did was talk about everyhting, it was just like Sundays in the late 90's only this time its live.
It was her last night last night so she invited me to drinks first at the Bryant Park Grill since she spent most of the afternoon at the Public Library. After drinks and cheese we took a bus uptown to meet a friend of hers at this Japanese place on the Upper East. As we were walkning on 62nd street between Park and Madison, these two women emerged from a townhouse chatting and I automatically found the voice very familiar. It was Mama Martha Stewart, in a beige cloak taking her friend while escorting her to a big 'artista' van. I almost bumped into her since we sort of cut her on the sidewalk, I had to call Jessica's attention right after we went past them and as she turned back, they were just there on the curb nonchalantly chatting and exchanging goodbyes.
I told Jessica, " ayan just like Captain Aqua, there's your ' pabaon starsighting '." a little token the city gives to those who enjoyed their stay, to say 'thank you for visiting..please come again.'
