I know I am not the only one who finds it frustrating to learn that the things you wanted from a partner in a relationship but couldn't/didn't get are now the things for which he is being praised in a new one.
Hello!! The reason he is a) staying on the phone for an hour or two (willingly) and b) writing long, lovely e-mails is that he learned, one supposes, from my frustration that he would only talk on the phone for 10-15 minutes (tops!) and then it was abundantly clear this was an uncomfortable means of conversation, and that his e-mails were one, at most two, short, cryptic paragraphs that arrived infrequently.
Now, it seems, he has grown into the man I knew he could be.
*sigh*
I am not a pair of training wheels, although one would not know it from reviewing my relationship history...
