A surprising thing came in the mail last week.

But it was a very busy week with a long evening spent walking a colicky horse and days full of work, so I didn't get to my phone call.

Thanks! Considering the financial struggles of the past three years and especially last fall (no income whatsoever for four months while hospitalized and convalescing), it is an amazing thing. Now I can work on repleting my savings!

It is a shame you can't get any kind of refi. I know there are things you want to do with the house and it'd be nice to get everything paid off all at once. Still, nice to know you'll be more able to do those things without the burden of a mortgage!
