Imagine my surprise when last Friday, while having breakfast at the Clover Leaf Cafe, that I hear Cry Love by John Hiatt playing on the radio. This made me giddy like no bodies business. Why might you ask? Because  I don't typically hear John Hiatt unless it's from my iPod. Mmmm....Ann Arbor radio stations.  Yup, last weekend KC, KT and I headed downstate to see RENT in Detroit.

After getting done with work last Thursday, we piled into the van and headed on out. Weather wasn't too bad. We went nice and slow. We dropped KT off near Flint then headed on down to Matt's house. KC and managed to get lost (Not like this is anything new) but we managed to get there without getting lost in Hell. That's something I've never managed to do while traveling with my sister. Falling asleep was no issue, except for the cat that decided to try and sneak up on us. Only problem with kitties plan....she was purring.

Friday, we headed into Ann Arbor to go shopping and kill some time before seeing Kyle. I picked up 3 more SiP books and am wishing I had picked up the last two. Oh, well....there is always next time. While we were wandering around we were searching for a store called Ten Thousand Villages. Did we find it? Not so much. Kyle looked good. Some of his muscle was gone, but he's working on getting that back. It made me happy to see that he had a mo-hawk.

Saturday: Breakfast with Matt and then back into Ann Arbor to nab some pictures of the awesome graffiti. Yes, I took pictures of graffiti, but to be fair to my geeky side, it was Mega Man and Han Solo. I wasn't about to pass that up. After getting back to Matt's we waited as long as we could before we started getting ready. We left uber early, but having never really been to the Detroit Opera House, we wanted to make sure we had enough time. It's a good thing too, because when got closer we found out that the ramp we were suppose to take was closed. A really nice guy at the gas station we stopped at showed us back to I-94 and gave us clear directions towards the theater. Sadly to say, driving in downtown Detroit sucks. We found the theater with about 30 minutes to spare.

The show was FANTASTIC!!!! I've waited a very long time to see it and I saw such an amazing cast. Anthony Rapp as Mark. Gwen Stewart, the original soloist for Seasons of Love (she was also in the last Broadway Cast) Also, Collins and Angel from the last Broadway cast. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I cried. It was so fantastic!!!!!!!!

We took our time coming home on Sunday. The weather wasn't so bad until we came above the bridge. Then it was like returning to Hoth.

MMMMMMMM...........it was a fantastic trip!!!!
