Otakon 2013 Update: Schedule
Hey ladies and gents, the Otakon 2013 schedule has been posted.
Most of you will notice at this current time that the site is down BUT I was able to snag the schedule prior to the crash and have some information for you that are curious:
On Friday, Takanori will be having a Q&A panel in Panel 2 from 1:45PM to 2:45PM.
UPDATE: Panel 2 is the biggest panel room at the convention, as suspected!
Panel 2 is located at the top floor of the convention center. If you go on the level where registration is and take any of the stairs/escalators/elevators up there you'll find it easily. Make sure you check your Guidebook app (which is available for download) for a correct map!
If you want to get a good spot, make sure you arrive early (before noon if you can) to line up! I will be there in a pastel lolita outfit inspired by the anime Creamy Mami (if you see a girl with a long lavender wig and this dress, that's me!)
THERE HAS BEEN NO OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION OF A ROOM CLEAR BETWEEN OPENING CEREMONIES AND TMR'S PANEL, SO UNTIL THEN I WON'T ADVISE TRYING TO GO TO BOTH.
As for the Saturday Concert -
Written on the schedule is the following:
SEATING - 3PM to 4PM
SATURDAY CONCERT - 4PM to 7PM
Unfortunately there have yet to be announcements of the way the concert line process is being handled, but I am HOPING that similar to when MUCC came to Otakon in 2006 that they will be giving stickers that will dictate when you/your section should line up outside and where you will be seated. Honestly I am not a big fan of the heat (especially in the hell pit of Baltimore >>;;) so if they go with this system it'll be awesome!
Now if you have never been to Otakon nor in a while, this event will be held outside of the convention in the First Mariner Arena. Its the "equivalent" of Madison Square Garden for Baltimore, so there is a lot of seats! The Arena is located just a short 1 - 3 blocks away from the convention center (depending on where you are leaving from it) Usually Otakon staff members will have signs directing people towards it on the day of! Again, once Otakon posts more details I'll let you guys know the scoop.
Finally, Autographs -
As of now the only "confirmed" information that has been posted is that Otakon will most likely be using a lottery system AND there will be two possibilities to meet him: One on Friday and one on Saturday. Now on the schedule neither of these sessions are mentioned, so I am suspecting that means the lottery system is true or they have just decided to handle this aspect completely differently and keeping it super hush hush.
Other special things:
TMR will be releasing a special CD for Otakon that features all of his anime tie-in songs titled Geisha Boy. Now most of us probably all ready have the majority of these songs on various different singles/releases/etc. but this is still a pretty cool special item to get from the convention. Apparently the quantity of the album will be super limited, so get it if you want it asap from the Dealers Room (or so everyone thinks that's where it'll be.)
