i don't think i had any new years resolutions. and no.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
i think many nights, not really one more than others. many lovely evenings with diana, especially the dazed and confused night, and the talent show nights (namely when we drove along mongoloid road!). for some reason i remember very vividly the night that florida, shari, and i went to dairy queen back in like july. definitely the night with charles, julianne, and dan proulx from a couple months ago. motherfucking camping night with florida, charles, sara j, and billy! the yale-harvard game. staying up till 6 am talking with r. matt and janet. and OBVIOUSLY going to the strip club instead of the freshman screw.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
hah, achievements. probably managing to land some jobs. three of them, even, over the course of the year. i think surviving last week was an achievement too. and keeping up the quotes hall of fame all year. um...and having sex with your mom.
9. What was your biggest failure?
beats me. i had a few of them.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
thankfully, not much of either. i had strep for like 3 weeks back in march or so though.

who cares?

this thing is getting lamer and lamer.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
the pixies, the end of the fucking semester (it's HERE!).
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
"funeral" by the arcade fire, in its entirety.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier. i mean...i was in high school. now i'm in college.
ii. thinner or fatter? probably a little fatter. see above.
iii. richer or poorer? richer, cause i have a job.

mmyes.
23. How many one-night stands?
millions.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
family guy, which isn't much of a shocker i know. the daily show gained many points, though, it's definitely top 3 now. they just get better and better.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
there are very few people that i would say i hate, and i don't think there's anyone that i knew last year that i don't still keep in touch with that i don't love. that was a very awkwardly worded sentence, and i'd change it around a little, but i'm lazy.
26. What was the best book you read?
probably chronicle of a death foretold by gabriel garcia marquez.

sexy!
34. What kept you sane?
friends, family, the arcade fire.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
lindsay lohan!
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
the war. gay marriage. good people supporting bad things. i'm a victim too. a lot of things about 2004 politically and culturally depress the shit out of me. and i know i'm not alone.
37. Who did you miss?
well, i dunno...anyone i didn't see, really.
38. Who were the best new people you met (in person)?
well, it being a transition year, i met a ridiculous number of new people, and they're all pretty awesome.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
i have learned quite a lot in 2004. mostly that there are good people and bad people everywhere you go, and everybody has good aspects and bad aspects. so try not to let the bad aspects take over your life, and take as much happiness as you can from the good ones.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"all is quiet, except for this song
so maybe while i'm not together i can feel like i'm not alone
and somewhere off in the distance, rapidly advancing, is an onslaught of sorts
young sirens wail with a skewed sense of glory
and the lions in the cages roaring a memory of flight
and there's a joy, a joy in all i can see
a joy in every possibility
and all around us is a great great feeling
american rockets red-glared our most disgusting triumph
in passing i am asked, "do you believe in a god?"
i shrug off the answer, continue to get high
in this terror of no explanation i am looking for a faith
my panic is an only reason there's a joy
a joy in all i can see
a joy in every possibility"
-against me! "a joy in all i can see"
