I often have strange dreams. After staying up too late watching True Blood season 2 and eating too much popcorn and pizza, I slept in until 10 this morning. I woke out of a nightmare. . . and since I woke in the middle of it, I remember lots of detail.
I was in a scenic, mountainous place that was also near or in a city-scape. I have no idea where. There was a river running through this area and the water in it was warm and wonderful. Lot of people were boating and swimming in the river. I was looking for Robbie, and I knew he was supposed to be hanging out with Agent DiNozzo from the NCIS TV series, but I was pretty sure he was on the other side of the river, and the only way to cross over was to swim.
So I jumped into the warm, refreshing water and swam easily through the crowds of people. At one point a mother, a teenager and a baby were bouncing around in the water, and I grabbed the baby and lifted it out of the water. “What a lovely child you have!” I exclaimed. The teenaged boy and the mother were taken aback by this stranger playing with the baby, so I handed it over and swam on.
Eventually I made it to the other shore and climbed up some rocks and into the parking lot of a motel, which I seem often to dream about. It has a restaurant and is built on many levels. Very barock in its design, I have no idea why I have recurring visits to this place.
It occurred to me that I should give Robbie a call on my iPhone to find out where he was. Suddenly I realized I had just swum across a river with my iPhone in my pants pocket! QUEL HORREUR!!!! I pulled it out of my pocket, still dripping with river water. Sure enough, it was dead! How could I have been so stupid, I asked myself.
I looked around for a Rogers Communications store hoping against hope I could replace it with the new 3GS model. But none was to be found.
At this point I saw Robbie sitting alone in the restaurant at the motel eating a pork chop. I wondered where Agent DiNozzo was, and some woman told me he had personal business elsewhere. I made my way towards Robbie and started to worry how he would react to my ruined iPhone. At this point I woke up.
