A Case Of the Letharges!

I have been feeling a little lethargic since our return from the States. I haven’t had much in the way of ambition to do anything. Little things keep us busy, dinners with friends, trips to see family and friends, the usual shopping, house-maintenance, etc. But I have had little interest in working on any of my great projects. That needs to change.

I think part of the problem is that Robbie has become super-focused on getting through his online chemistry course. He is working against a deadline which is accute only because he didn’t do much work on it in March or April. In May he started to get serious, and now in June he is pushing hard to finish in the first week of July. He has been doing quite well as far as his marks are concerned, and I am proud of his hard work.

Once in a while he will come to me with something that makes no sense to him. I try to help as best I can. At best, I can parse a question and try to make it more clear, but my chemistry days were a LONG time ago!

Unfortunately, Robbie has reverted to night owl mode. He stays up until 5 or 6 in the morning studying and taking tests, then sleeps in until 1 or 2 in the afternoon and starts all over again. We rarely eat together, which makes eating tricky at best. We have eaten out more than we should. And we aren’t eating the best either. Yes, there are ketchup chips in the house again! In Robbie’s defense, he lets me hide them and dole them out in reasonable amounts. Otherwise he will devour a large bag at one setting. No self control there!

I like them too, but prefer Fritos. For the longest time all you could find in stores here were Barbecue-style Fritos, which I do not like. Suddenly I have access to the real deal and I am now having problems with self control!

It’s all about discipline, isn’t it?

chips, chemistry, discipline, study, lethargy
