First, I want to apologize for any grotesque assassination of the English language I might commit in this post... It's 10pm, I'm tired as hell and I had a couple of drinks that were stronger than I'm used to (I haven't drank in a long while), so it is possible that Portuguese is more present in my mind than English.
Second, I'm siting in my living room with my husband, his uncle and aunt and the three of them are completely into the basketball game on tv. His uncle and aunt came to SC to visit, spend 3 days and I don't think he's seen them since the wedding, 2 years ago.
So here we are, after spending the day together and having an amazing dinner (and drinks). And I have to be completely honest, even though I kinda know what's going on on the game, I'm not into it at all. Again, as a Brazilian, it has not been part of my life to follow sports as basketball, baseball and football. My thing is soccer. Ask me about soccer and I'll be able to have a conversation, but even then, I won't be able to talk about what player was traded or how much Neymar made on his last contract.
Since I've moved here, I've developed a genuine interest in football, I enjoy watching it and I do believe I know most of the rules... But please, do not get started on baseball or golf! For those, it's almost as if you are speaking Greek! I don't know the first thing of any of these two.
And this brings me here, posting right now, enjoying myself almost as much as they are enjoying themselves (I believe) watching those guys trying to throw a ball through a basket. 🤷
Errrr... yup, that's it. Apparently, in addition to make my English escape to the background of my mind, the drinks also made it impossible for me to think of an acceptable ending for this post. So it's going to end like this, without a nice, well round conclusion. Cheers and good night.
