AAAAHHH!! This was so awesome!! I love All-Star Superman so much and I really, really hope there is an upcoming issue where Clark has to confront Bruce with the fact that he's dying. But would it be as excellent as your story? I doubt it.

That said, you perfectly captured Grant Morrison's writing style! The dialog! Everything Bruce says is amazing. I love this line:

"I promised you...everything not already promised to my mission. You don't get to go off and die."

It's so sweet and determined at the same time!

This was totally rad. Great job!

Thanks, Rach. I *really* like these books, as you know, so writing this was a kick. I would really like to re-write the whole Lois interaction in this series and substitute Bruce, but I doubt I'd have the time. But I can just see Clark stumbling around, trying to impress Bruce with the Fortress, trying to find a way to tell Bruce how he feels... :)) Ah, if we only had time...

Thanks again!

*Melts in adoration of sunny story*

This Bruce seemed to me more like F. Miller's Bruce. Colder, in a way. Which, I suppose, matches perfectly with an overflowing sunned cell Clark. However, this Bruce is far better than any Bruce that MIller wrote. Because this Bruce loves Clark. Yay!

>>This Bruce seemed to me more like F. Miller's Bruce.

Ahhh! Not quite going for that, LOL, but I did want a Bruce that emotes a little less girlishly than my usual Bruce. LOL

>>However, this Bruce is far better than any Bruce that MIller wrote. Because this Bruce loves Clark. Yay!

Yay! That's my feeling exactly. Any Bruce that loves Clark is a good Bruce. :)

Thanks so much for reading and commenting. It is very much appreciated.

I am always how you seem to write without trying. This is brilliant. I love how Bruce slowly breaks over Clark illness than leave over into Bat to deal.

My favorite line:
"Idiot," Bruce spat. "Super intelligent but we're all still waiting for the wizard to bring you a brain."

And because I could actually in my muddled brain hear Bruce clearly, I thought that was effing brilliant.

Ah, Emme, if you only knew how I agonize over every sentence. LOL

So glad you liked this. I'm trying to clear my plate of SS fic and this one happened to be the one I felt like polishing up tonight. I really liked the comics this storyline appears in, so it was fun to write.

Thanks so much for your comments. Just the thing to keep me plugging away, LOL

This story fills me with so much glee that... I can't describe the glee. I LOVE the All-Star Superman series so much -- and you nailed it, perfectly. The woobie!Clark (or at least, bumbling and just plain awesome Clark), the dialogue, the sarcasm to Bruce. It reminds me so much of the series and yet stands on its own as a wonderfully written piece. I love Bruce's determination and how he handles the situation, how it's clear what must be done to correct it. I also like the relationship portrayed between the two, the balance between seriousness and familiarity.

Awesome story. Now I'm dying to see how they'll handle it in the book and hoping it'll be this good! Thank you so much for this! :)

I'm glad you liked it, because I was a little worried that I didn't exactly fill your request. I thought you likely envisioned Clark actually interviewing Bruce and telling him about his impending death, but this was what came out. LOL

The All Star Superman books are just the best. I was really excited to see your request and was glad that I was able to do something in that universe.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting! :hugs:

Oh, wow. I have no idea about the comic in question, but still... Oh Wow. o.o

I really really love how you write Bruce. ^____^ No matter which variation you tackle, he's always so... so... Bruce. Yes. ^__^ All the Awesome in the world contained in one body, and you convey it so nicely. ^.^

Thanks so much, T. I really need to read more of the Batman comics, because I suspect I have Bruce in my head that's not necessarily grounded enough in canon, but the Batman books...they scare me. LOL

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
