For the last week, thanks to the incompetence of my girlfriend's local branch of Comcast internet provider people, she has not had internet. Because we are thouroughly disgusting and obsessed with one another, we have to talk every night. Usually this is done online, but because of the incompetence mentioned above, we have been forced to use....
the PHONE.
See, I don't get the phone. More, I don't like the phone. It could be said of me that I do, in fact, FUCKING DESPISE being on the phone. I am awkward and shy enough in real life, and the phone just seems to accentuate my lack of... verbal skills. I can hold a conversation in person and over the computer just fine, but unlike seemingly a lot of other people, I can't seem to fill phone-based silences with oodles of pointless bullshitting.
So, Comcast? Get your crap together. Please. Quit making me feel like such a goon...
