I had a (mostly) wonderful Christmas. The kids got tons of presents and Josephine had a great time opening hers. Jefferson is 18 months, so he still just wasn't sure about digging in and opening stuff. His favorite toy was the $3.00 foam ball that Santa brought him; he insisted on holding it in his lap while we helped him open other gifts. Santa was also very good to me. I got a new cutting board that fits over one side of my sink. It doesn't sound very exciting, but I do a lot of cooking and with the wooden board I always worried about cross-contamination... Santa also brought me a pair of pearl earrings (Jefferson's birthstone). He had previously brought me a pair of garnet earrings (Josephine's birthstone). I love Santa!
The celebrations were nice, the meals were tasty, we ate at my mother-in-law's but everybody brought a few dishes/items. I baked and baked and cooked and made cheese balls too. At one point or another, all of Jeff's seven siblings were home. I played the SNL edition Trivial Pursuit with Jeff and his two youngest brothers. I was so thrilled to be able to answer "Jane, you ignorant slut!" for a game wedge. The game was suprisingly difficult, but we had fun mocking each other.
As for my family, that's a conversation for another post.
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my tmc_otter. Prepare to die!
