Overwhelming nerdiness...

So me and my boyfriend are totally hooking up Heroes Con this weekend, a nerdfest for crazy comic book lovers. I'm definitely a comic book lover, but I kind of love it more for the pictures than the words. I sound like a 3 year old. Oh cool. Yeah, I love Neil Gaiman's stuff. I really want to read Sandman. My friend is really into it and swears it's amazing. The art is great and Mr. Punch reminds me of that now that I'm looking at it. Will add it to the to do list!

Awesome about Let the Right One In. I hoped you'd like it :) And yes, I think the age that the writer chose for the leads was perfect. It's just on the edge of being too young to handle these things, and I always like that when someone shows a child behaving in a way that is slightly too mature for what you'd think someone that age could be. It makes the characters stand out among their peers and I think that's part of why you want Oscar to fight back. At the very end, I felt a bit relieved and happy for him, even though it was bittersweet when you start to think of all the consequences, etc.

You should read the book sometime if you're interested. It's definitely a very adult book, full of really disturbing things, some of which aren't really touched on in the film...

About to PM you actually because I wanted to see what you thought about something in the film but I don't want to spoil it on here... :)
