Fame
If you could only have one, which would you choose -- happiness, fame, or fortune?
Hmm, that’s a tough decision, but I think I’d have to go with fame. It’s probably the longest lasting of the choices. It has the potential to be a kind of immortality, which is appealing. It also has power - you can barter fame to get the things you need. You can use your celebrity to manipulate people who often go along with someone simply because he’s well known. So while fortune is undoubtedly useful and convenient, you’ll never starve if you’re famous. As far as happiness, it’s the least useful of the three. And to be perfectly honest, I’m not sure I’d really be happy without having at least one of the other two.
