And now a package...

Jul 25, 2007 20:39

There was a knock on the door.

Rogue frowned, wondering if she could ignore it before Avalanche's annoyed voice echoed through the air. "Rogue, you got a package. Look either come and get it or its up for grabs," he called, and she heard him rustling the box. "Who the hell is Irene Adler anyway? How'd she know where we are?"

Rogue wrenched the door open and snatched the box from him. Glaring. Pleased when he backed away, muttering something with the word crazy in it. "I ain't crazy," she muttered, slamming the door closed and sat back on the bed.

Irene's letter was still under the pillow and sure enough it was the woman's handwriting on the package. Rogue tore it open, wondering what the woman had sent. It couldn't be her birthday present. That was still a few weeks from now. Inside was a letter and another package. The woman always did like her mystery.

Rogue frowned. Not liking her Oma's words. Curioustity the only reason she was opening the package. She looked through the pictures from her childhood. Snapshots of a happier time and felt the tears fall. Sobbing softly. Damn you, Oma.

She stuffed the photographs back in the box along with both letters and hid them behind her shoes in the closet. Locking them away.

The past was done. There was no use dwelling on it. None at all. All love had done was make Mystique crazy. Made Irene die. Made them both weak. And Rogue was anything but weak.
