All comes crumbling down

Rogue's been a little lost lately, trying to come to terms with all the warring thoughts and ideas in her head. Finally she gets a chance to help mutants and prove to herself that violence isn't the only answer but in the end, it all crumbles down before her and she does the only thing she can think of.

"Anna?"

Erik strained to hear her, over the noise. He was in a bar, in Prague, watching the coverage from Paris. He heard what she said--at least, he thought she did. Standing up, he threw a few bills down on the table to pay for his coffee and went outside, where he had less chance of being overheard. "My dear. Calm down. Tell me what you mean."

"I. They're dead. They're all dead. What the hell is the point in even trying to find a safe place to live when." She shrank against the phonebooth, berating herself for forgetting her coat. Her white locks were clear for everyone to see and she held her breath, thankful when the officer walked by, talking to his partner.

She held her breath, watching them round the corner before continuing.

"When people are out there hurting us. How will we ever be safe? We can't. They were kids, Erik--Magneto. They just wanted a place to live. That's all."

Erik closed his eyes. He hated that her acceptance finally came at such a terrible price. "I promise you, Rogue," he said firmly, using her mutant name. "We will make the world safe for mutants. No matter the cost. I promise you, Rogue. We will have vengeance for this atrocity."

He could feel his adrenaline rushing. Erik began to pace. "Where are you? I need you to come to Prague. Everyone is on their furlough, however, so I cannot send someone for you. You'll need a way to get here that is untraceable."

"I'm in Italy. I can be untraceable, Er--Magneto. Where..." She hesitated, looking around, trying to see if anyone was listening. "Where in Prague?" she asked, keeping her voice low.

AWWWWWWW! POOR ROGUE!

This was very sad, but I think you did a fab job at writing the final push for Rogue to join the Brotherhood.

Oh, and me and Pyro can't wait until he gets to start bossing her around. 'Cause you know he's going to be a bossy, smug little ass, right? *smirk* (But he'll be happy she's there, he just will never admit that. :D)

And Toad will be thrilled, too. *GRIN*

Thank you and I cannot wait for Pyro to boss her around. She'll try and keep her cool for as long as she can but I'm sure he'll do it enough to get a response out of her. And then she'll have to be punished. :g:
