Prompt #211

Jan 03, 2008 17:06

I often wonder what I would say to my old friend, Charles Xavier, should I pass him by on the street. Do we tip our hats to each other, do we sit for coffee or tea and discuss the weather?

It is very strange. I have known Charles for a long time, and yet, we are enemies according to most of the world. I recently read the article about myself in Newsweek, as I was featured in 20 of the Most Infamous Men and Women Alive Today. It noted I was diametrically opposed to the idea of peace and tolerance preached by his old friend, mutant-rights pioneer Charles Xavier. I thought it interesting I was a mutant terrorist and Charles a mutant-rights pioneer, and also, that he was not included in the list of 20. I'm directly after Robert Mugave.

I do not think we are that diametrically opposed, as the article said. We both want what is best for mutant-kind. I think both of us realize that. So perhaps if I see him, that is what I would say. It is a shame we could never work together. Perhaps I'll tell him that. I don't know if he'd call for help or send me off to some prison from which I will inevitably escape, or if he would walk by as if he pretended he didn't see me.

That's always been the problem with Charles, really. He never wanted to see the danger in the shadows. He never wanted to see what was real.

OOC: Magneto!Mun apologizes most profusely for her lengthy absence from TM. If you need her, please leave a comment with her email if you wish for any RP-arranging purposes. I'll be back into the swing of things after Monday, Jan. 7. Thanks!!
