“Things would be a lot less dramatic around here if you would just admit the truth, Cain.”
“And what truth is that?”
“There’s nothing wrong with it, you know. It’s just human nature.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Geez, Cain. Do I have to spell out everything for you?”
“You are a princess, DG. Decorum states-”
“Oh please! Decorum-schmorum. If it’s the age difference that bothers you-”
“You’re royalty. Even if- I’m just a...”
“A what? A ‘commoner’? Please, Cain. Have you met my parents?!”
“You are the most... aggravating person I have ever met.”
“Yet you’re still here. Look, all this arguing is getting us nowhere. And we should be going-”
“Have you been possessed by the Witch?”
“No, I’m just sick of beating around the bush. Face it Cain: You like me and I like you. There’s really nothing to discuss here. We’re both adults. And who cares what anyone else thinks? What are you looking at?”
“I’m trying to see if you have a zipper, because you’ve obviously lost your mind.”
“I give up! Look, I’m going to spell this out for you, the easiest way I know how: I'm gonna run a bath. If you'd like a shot at jumping my bones, you should be naked by the time the bathtub's full."
DG’s eyes went wider than they ever had before.
Did she really just say that?!
Out loud?
In front of Wyatt Cain?!
Turning, ever-so-slowly, toward Cain, DG hoped that she wasn’t actually as bright red as she felt. She was rather surprised to see that Cain had a rather pink tinge, as well. Neither blinked, until they heard the sound of a throat clearing.
“Uh...” They turned together, the mood shifting, almost immediately, as the initial shock of the words wore off. DG’s hands went to her hips and, if looks could kill-
Azkadellia gave the two of them a slight, extremely nervous laugh and winced.
“Was that out loud?”
