In-Character Information
Name: Toph Bei Fong
Series: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Canon-Point: Post-Series
History: http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Toph_Bei_Fong
Personality: Toph's personality is the product of a desire to rebel against an extremely sheltered childhood and noble upbringing. To that end, she is sarcastic, stubborn, confrontational, brutally honest and independent to a fault. She developed a tough guy persona as the "Blind Bandit", participating in underground fights against grown men. She is extremely proud of her own skills, almost to the point of arrogance, and proclaims herself to be the "greatest Earthbender in the world", which is probably true.

She is innovative and adaptable, not allowing her blindness to affect her actions in any way (other than not being able to read and write). She can be rude and vulgar and doesn't place too much importance on personal hygeine, preferring to keep a "healthy layer of earth" on her. She doesn't tend to hold grudges, quickly forgiving old enemies or rivals at the first sign of a change of heart. However, she's not shy about showing her dislike for people or situations. She has a somewhat twisted sense of humor, mostly sarcastic and often at the expense of others.

Powers: She keeps her "seismic sense" without alteration. She is limited to smaller acts of earthbending (a chair-sized rock can still be lifted and made into a projectile but not a car-sized one.) Metalbending is still possible but only on small scales, and it does require a lot of effort. (If I need to limit powers further let me know!)

Starter Pokemon: Drilbur

Writing Samples
First-Person Sample:

Uhh, hi? Is this thing working now? [The face of a young girl, around thirteen years old, appears on the Xtransceiver screen for a brief moment before the camera starts to shift about randomly. She's turning the thing around in her hands, poking at it in inspection. Finally it settles on one image: the upper half of the girls face, upside-down. Her pale green eyes indicate that she's obviously blind.] It went beep soo... I guess that means it's on? Yeah, I'm supposed to talk to people with this thing? So... what's up, people! [She gives a hesitant grin which immediately turns into a scowl.] This is really dumb.

Okay, assuming this really isn't just a bracelet -- [She lowers her voice to a grumble] -- and it better not be or that old guy with the tree is so gonna get it... If there's anyone out there for real, hey! What's going on!? I'm on this island? And there's this little animal following me around. He's actually kind of like a badgermole, but he's way too small and he can see! So that's weird. Hellooo? Oh, what am I doing! This is so dumb. [The Xtransceiver suddenly gets dropped into the sand, its camera capturing only blue skies. The girl can be heard plopping down on the sand nearby and giving an exasperated sigh.] Stupid bracelet. Stupid island.

Third-Person Sample:
Toph remained on the ground for a few seconds after she woke, her arms spread and hands palm-down on the earth. The vibrations that she felt painted a picture of waves hitting a beach, trees blowing in the wind. Definitely not Ba Sing Se. When she went to sleep last night, she'd been in Ba Sing Se. Right!? Right. This was not Ba Sing Se. After that fact managed to seep in, she immediately jumped to her feet, entering a familiar fighting stance. She cast about suspiciously, feeling for vibrations that would indicate she was in danger. This was dangerous, right? She was kidnapped or something! Somehow! How did they do it!? Who did it? WHY!?

A rumbling under the earth caused her to jump back. She gestured quickly with her right hand, bending the earth beneath the source of the vibration and pushing it to the surface. An animal popped out of the ground, thrown into the air a short distance and landing roughly in the sand nearby. Toph tried to figure out what it was -- it was only about a foot tall, and it... had claws? Really big claws! It stood up and shook itself off, flinging sand everywhere. "Bur, bur bur," it said, and toddled towards Toph.

She shook her head. "Hey, little guy, scram! I'm trying to figure out what's going on!"

The Drilbur paused a moment, then continued walking towards Toph. It stopped near her feet and looked up at her, tapping its claws together. "Drilbur!"

Toph frowned at it. "Don't suppose you know anything about this?" The mole Pokemon didn't respond. "Yeah, didn't think so." Toph sighed and crossed her arms in frustration. "Well, come on, then. Let's go find out if there's anyone else here, I guess."
