Days to Go...
Not too much longer right? Well, yesterday I had a doctor's appointment, and it was with one of the two male doctors at my practice. Of course, my very first internal exam has to be done by a guy. I know that sounds immature, but it doesn't help that this doctor happens to look like my uncle! Not to mention, he has rather large hands and that can make an internal exam very uncomfortable.
So he checks me and low and behold! I'm 2 centimeters! He didn't tell me how effaced I was, but he said my cervix is definetly thin. Basically, waiting for my water to break. This was sort of a relief and sort of a disappointment. While its true, the more you dialate before actual hard labor, the less work and pain you'll have to go through when the time comes.... It's also true that just because I'm 2 centimeters today, doesn't mean I could deliver anytime soon. My neighbor was 4 cm for like 3 weeks! Also, I found out that if I go past my due date, they let you go a full two weeks before inducing you!!! I would be pregnant for 42 weeks!!!! Do you understand the magnitude of that?!? That's insane. I refuse to do that. I was hoping for this weekend, but maybe not. I don't know. I just know that I am going to stick to my strict regime of walking and walking and walking. I am aware that having sex works as well, but I don't think I could handle that right now, seeing has how I am very uncomfortable in that area these days!!!
