The Villa

I need to pick a villa and caterer still. Some villas have internal catering services (or else give exclusive rights to one company) and other villas allow you to bring in whoever you want.

My absolute favorite villa of all time is the Villa Erba. This is the stuff that you see movies!

I am rather sure they will be prohibitively expensive, but I am going to ask for an estimate anyway.

A coworker of mine used a company called Top Parties to cater her wedding. They have a bunch of villas but their website stinks and I have not yet made an appointment to meet with them (although I've already got an estimate from them).

I know that they once had rights to cater at the Villa San Carlo Borromeo although I don't know if they still cater there as I read that the Villa now has an internal catering service.

This would be really convenient for Carlo's family as this villa happens to be located in the same town where they all live. I love the inside of this villa, but I don't love the one room they have inside that could hold 100-150 people (I'd post pics but it's a flash slideshow and I'm too lazy to copy them, save them to MSN, then link them). However, they will also set up tables outside which is an option, although, I don't know how that would work with lighting as we'll be having dinner and it still gets dark early in April.

I also found this today -- the Castello di Marne, exclusively catered by Acquaroli Catering:

I love the outside but I have no idea what it's like inside and that's obviously a really important detail. I've nixed a lot of villas just because they don't have rooms large enough to fit 100-150 people all together.
