The Grand Canyon was grand in the grandest sense of grandness. It goes in my Top Ten of Most Amazing Places I've Visited.
Some highlights: stopping in Sedona for lunch, sunset along the South Rim, eavesdropping on half a dozen foreign languages, petting mules, our three-mile hike down into the Canyon, drinking hot chocolate afterward.
Also while we were there, we scattered some of my brother's ashes in a very beautiful spot.
As we walked to our car to head home, it began to snow. At first it was gentle snow, followed by serious snow, followed by "OMFG, can you see anything?" snow. Brandon was a most valiant driver and did the difficult parts of the trip, which is fortunate because the road was pretty scary and our rental car had no anti-lock brakes. We made it home about an hour and a half ago, much our relief and to the delight of the cats.
I hope to do a photo post later this week; J.'s camera is much, much better than mine.
