V e r y t i r e d. C a n h a r d l y s i t h e r e a n d t y p e i n t h i s j o u r n a l. Thank goodness it's Friday. I dont think I could work another shift. My feet just may fall off. I put in more than 40 hours this week and all 40 were horribly busy. I dont know what it is about the last few weeks, but everyone seems to want to come in. With or without an appointment.
Mean people suck. If I dislike any specific group of people, it is those that are disrespectful, abrupt, rude, arrogant, ignorant, etc. I am here to help clients - not be walked all over. We get some people who come in and practically take over the clinic. Like it is their freakin' house. Treat me as if I am some lowly servant to their every whim. I have been in this line of work for over 3 years... I think I know what I am doing. Dont stand there and try to tell me how things are.
The worst clients are those that:
1. Demand services and then refuse to pay for them.
2. Watch their pet's health decline for weeks and then finally decide it is time to do something at 5 o'clock on Friday -- and then throw a fit when they have to wait in line behind those who actually called ahead.
3. Assume I have nothing better to do with my time then to sit on the phone with them while they describe their complicated health problems, family dilemas, and/or transporation issues.
4. Think they know veterinary medicine - when they really have no idea what they are talking about - and then argue that they are 100% correct and that I am an idiot.
5. Call at 7 minutes to 6 (we close at 6) to refill a prescription, tell me that they are down the street and will pick it up within minutes --- and then dont show up until a quarter after.
I could go on - but I wont. If you do any of these things ... I implore you - STOP! Thank you. That is all.
