I'm kind of nervous.
So I guess I book bands now.
I got an internship with a record label out of San Francisco called PopSmear. They have me calling venues in attempt to get shows for a band called Soundboy. I called a place tonight and they said, "What's the band doing tonight? We need a band tonight." Ummm, I don't know?? I was caught so off guard that I told them that I'd try to reach the band and call back. I don't have contact numbers for anyone in the band so I just left a message for the label owner.
Also, it looks like I booked Danger:Radio and The Scene Aesthetic, along with their tour mates, to play a show in Chico. I know some people at a local art venue, so hopefully I can come through.
I think I might be way over my head. Actually, I know I am way over my head. I did one show last year at Fulcrum, but I got a lot of help from some friends and it was at an established venue. This is very different.
