A Modest Proposal
In the spirit of the title's reference, I propose establishing a People Season, perhaps one to seven days during the year when murder is legalized for anyone with a People Hunting License. It would help reduce the population and the pressures associated with having too many people around. There would naturally be a bag limit, probably no more than three heads per season per person; pregnant women count double. Home invasion would still be illegal, but shooting through windows is acceptable. Harvesting the very young would be illegal, but I acknowledge that there will probably still be veal fans out there ignoring that (to their peril, no doubt). I suppose people would be able to qualify for exemptions, though they would have to refrain from doing any hunting of their own that season.
