- My mother arrived from Thailand last Friday. It was surreal to see her at the airport. She was SO happy and excited to see all of us, especially her first grandchild. She could hardly contain herself ! It was so adorable.
So far, things have been great. Actually better than great. Knock on wood. Prior to her arrival, she criticized me often about my parenting skills/judgement like pacifier usage, feeding him too much, holding him too much, etc. Now that she has been in the frontline with me, she could not agree more with me. :-) I think she also underestimated the amount of work involved in caring for a (cranky) newborn ..... and now is very humbled by the first hand experience.
Aside from her helping hands with Luke front, she also been cooking up a storm. MD and I are sooooo well-fed and have more time to reconnect.
- Luke is still with cold (virus). He was having a tough time breathing even though he was not stuffy, no runny nose. He had to work hard with each breath. It's scary and his pediatrician was keeping a very close eyes on him. We ended up having to go see his pediatrician most days last week. I think he is over the big hump and getting better each day. Now he is just super cranky. :-(
- However, he has been sleeping 9-10 hrs each night in the past few days (even though it involves going for car ride during "witching hour"). He still wakes up at 4am for feeding and most likely staying up til 7am.
