Eustress

In the middle of the most stressful semester I've yet encountered, I have found that I have another form of stress: eustress. This type of stress is healthy, fulfilling and beneficial. It is the opposite of distress, which causes anxiety, discomfort and suffering.

The source of my eustress teaches me about music, converses with me in a mixture of German, Italian, Spanish and French, cooks for me while I watch football, is genuinely interested in my history paper, does not get upset when I almost break his fingers when balloons pop when I'm holding his hand, cares about using precise and correct English, tells me I'm beautiful when I'm wearing pajamas and have no makeup on, listens to me tell stories even though I am a terrible storyteller, doesn't find it weird that I've invented my own trinity or that I'm a liberal conservative, gives me pep talks when I am stressed, fixes things around my house, recommends great books to me, knows far more about football than I do, doesn't mind my wretched puns (and even makes some of his own) and is pretty much the coolest thing since the invention of the stirrup.
