Man! So after the mad rush the other night, TK is ALMOST done. I have one final touch that I will not reveal tonight. So where did I leave off? Ah! The face was just completed. The next step was the ears. After many attempts, I painstakingly realized that the nose was not the end of the handstitching. No, as soon as I made the first attempt at the ears, it was discovered that they too

would need

to be

hand

stitched

After the hour or so that it took to make the two of them, I needed a quick break, and of course, silliness ensued

ZOMGKITTYEARSSUPAHKAWAIIIIIIII >^..^<

...cough...yeah...so!

what break would be complete without refreshments!

(duh!)

So back to work trying to figure out how to shape the face

Basically I had to figure out where to tuck the fabric in order to give his face some form of definition and a round head shape. Slowly but surely I shaped the head, sewed on the back of his head (which I had to do twice because it was 1:30am and I sewed it on BACKWARDS!) and attached it to the rest of his body (which I eventually got around to sewing).

The result?

A nice shell!

I stuffed it and added the secret ingredient: BEANS! Thats right. He is a beany creation! I'd never made a beanie creation before so this was a first for me. I think it turned out fairly well myself!

So, today I painted on the eyes, a painstaking process since I had to paint on just the black line and then the white since the paint had to layer:

a little more definition

and finally:

Thats right! There he is in all his glory. As I said, tomorrow there will be one additional feature added. You will just have to wait and see, however! This has been a very fun project for me, and I really enjoyed keeping everything updated in here. I do plan to keep making these things because they really are fun to create. I already have plans for upcoming characters, but feel free to leave suggestions! I am hesitant on Gabe and Tycho plushies though, only because I really would have a lot of trouble with the hair. I would really like to get better at my 3-d character building before I attempt something that complicated.

so...

I guess thats it!
