Well hello there!! Been a while has it not? So I finally got some motivation to finish this guy up, so today I am buckling down and doing it. Right now I am taking a short break to update my progress.
I decided to just get the feet tips done and finished since they would be a breeze to make:
You can see them just placed on top of where they will be. I plan to just cut off the tips of the feet that are there now and just sew on the white feet. I also completed the tail which you can see the end of sticking out the end there. I didnt get any pics of it, but I assure you it looks really cool. A little tip should you ever want to make a tail that is long and skinny: when you sew it completely inside out, instead of wrestling with it in trying to get it right side out with just your fingers, get a long piece of string or ribbon and attach a safety pin to the end. Send it up the tube of the tail, and clip it to the tip from the inside. Then simply pull through! It works like a charm!
Next up I tackled the muzzle. This is by far the most detail oriented piece in this cat!
I ended up having to hand stitch the nose to the muzzle piece:
after trying to sew it on the machine had some less desirable effects due to poor planning:
Finally though, I got it all finished and have started attaching the whiskers:
The whiskers are thin black yarn which I knotted on one end and am pulling through with a yarn needle, then tying a knot in the very tip so as to prevent unraveling.
So far, I am very hopeful about the head being completed today!! Expect further updates!
