Who else was exhausted by the end of the holiday weekend?
Poor Tim was home for the holiday and during his four day weekend he had to help me remodel a tack room and go to two horse shows.
I will say that the tack room turned out great *good job honey* and that our buckskin took 4th in the open halter class. Now fourth may not seem like a big deal but it was alright. Granted it was a small show but there were 29 horses in the class and Diamond (who is a quarter horses) was competing with all other breeds (Morgans, Standard breeds, Arabians, Paints...etc). This was also the first time she had ever been hauled to a show and the girl who showed her had only ever worked with her previously for about 30 - 45 minutes. I was happy.
The second show was a bit more of a so-so.....Makaila was competing in her first show with my mom's old mare in a walk-trot class and she had to scratch b/c Missy was being a bit pissy. However this time Missy was not deserving of her usual nickname. I had to get a new bit for her b/c she could not show in a snaffle bit and I didn't get the bridle done until the day of the show.....my bad.....and I put the curb strap on so the buckle was poking her, so not the horses fault.
Makaila met her instructor for her horse and pony camp and learned several valuable riding lessons from that one failed class so that made the day worth it.
In addition we visited my brother who was camping nearby and attended a open house for my bf from high schools son who graduated high school.
We were busy and I spent yesterday reclaiming my house (still cleaning) and starting laundry (still folding)....am spent!!!
