Bread and Milk Emergency

Feb 11, 2014 22:22

I live in the Southern part of the US where they are calling for 6 - 10 inches of snow. For us, this is practically cataclysmic! We get a dusting periodically, which can shut down the state. Getting 6 - 10 inches will shut down the state for several days to a week. I know those of you who live in the "snow belt" don't understand this reaction to snow. But when you live in this part of the country, you just take for granted that if snow is in the forecast, you buy bread and milk and plan not to go anywhere until it melts.

It is forecast to begin around 9 a.m. tomorrow. That means I'll probably have my first class. But I seriously doubt I'll have Physics lab which doesn't start until 5:30. And chances are really good I won't have class Thursday. This means more words!! Unless we lose power. Then all bets are off.

We have camping equipment in case we do lose power. Mostly this means we can heat soup and I can brew coffee. We also have plenty of dog food.

The dogs love to play in the snow. I'll try to post some pictures if we get out in it!

To all of you in the path of this storm - stay home and stay safe. To those who consider 6 inches no big deal, please stop laughing at us!

Love to you all.

rants about nothing important!, on being a southern belle
