One of Those Cool Real Life Things!
As I'm sure I've mentioned (on more than one occasion?) that I work in the tutoring center at the college where I attend school. Today, one of the students requested help on his English homework. He showed me his assignment, and his instructor was my favorite English teacher from when I was in high school!! Not only was she my favorite English teacher, she was one of my favorite teachers ever of any subject! I couldn't believe it when I saw that she works part time at the college where I go.
I sent her an email, telling her I knew the chances were slim that she'd remember me but I found out she worked there and had to let her know how meaningful her class was to me. She emailed me back, assuring me she did remember me and would email me from her personal account so she'd be sure and see my response more quickly.
I mean, is that not the coolest? I was so excited when I saw her name as the instructor on the student's worksheet, I nearly squealed out loud. (She has a fairly unusual last name and her first name was also listed. There was no doubt that this English instructor and my high school teacher were one in the same.)
