Okay, I am definitely procrastinating. I could be beta reading, preparing for something major in my life (that may or may not happen, but I have high hopes for), reading, or cleaning. Instead, I'm answering your questions. Wish more had asked questions. Oh, well. Anyway... here's my 15:

If I'd really wanted to mix it up, I could've added in some characters from old PBS shows I watched. But since I still think of those characters as kids (even though the actors can't be much more than a few years older than me now), so that might've gotten weird.
And when I say weird, I mean weirder than the Ryan/Alexis pairing I ended up with in response to one of sykira's questions. I mean, Kevin Ryan has been married since Season 4, was engaged for about a year before that, and dating the woman for over a year before that. (IIRC) I'm not sure how old the character is supposed to be, but I'm positive Alexis was no older than fifteen when "Castle" debuted, and it just finished Season 6. It'd take a lot of careful doing and thinking to make it believable, especially in light of what I just mentioned. I always found the Stabler/Benson ship a little worrisome for some overlapping reasons, so you can imagine my irritation with my imagination.
I stumbled onto the very idea because I kept nixing the idea of each with anyone else for various reasons. And sometime after posting one of my old rules about fanfiction popped into my head: "Any pairing is possible, and just because someone else hasn't written it doesn't mean someone else hasn't thought of it." So... I checked FF.N's Castle listings. There are 50 stories that list both Ryan and Alexis as major characters, and I'd say between half and 2/3rds at least PUSH TOWARD the pairing side. I'll admit that some of the stories were decent or had potential to be great, but far too many needed to run spellcheck. And locate a beta reader. What does it say about a "pairing" if the majority of the fics have atrocious spelling and formatting?
