Got to get me some cool Mercs

This game has been preoccupying me these past few days.

An isometric, strategy game where you play mercenaries that protect the town of Vermonics as you finish quests to save the world. At around level 12 on, it gets a little harder to level up without completing the main story line and side quests, but otherwise I'm having lots of fun with this game. I usually play in a party, which is limited to 2 or 3 players, but playing solo is entirely feasible as long as your hired mercenaries are at or above your current level; they could be below your current level, but you'd have to make up for their lack of power with stellar tactics :)

This browser mmo is a freemium game, meaning inventory, storage, skill slots, etc. space are limited unless you buy "cash items" with real money to expand the slots. Avatar items, M-tickets (advanced merc currency), and gacha tokens are some other examples of cash items. Some cash items can be bought from other players through the market board in town square, are given as quest/battle rewards, or are obtained from other game activities (e.g. gacha, daily login). It's not such a bad thing if you're used to inventory management, and you can play the game well without relying on many cash items as far as I've seen (I'm not even level 20 yet). Although, I wish it were easier to customize your character. I want a new outfit and hairstyle for him. Badly.

One last thing to note is the translation. I've read that Ecol Tactics Online is a JRPG translated to English loosely. That is to say, the translator took great liberties to make the dialogue amusing where it might be expected to be serious. So there is some JRPG satire written into the game that some gamers might not appreciate.

But funny translations aside, I'd recommend people get some of their friends together and play this game :)
