Ah, HP fandom

I was going to watch The Graduate and work on that Aro/Carlisle fic today, but running_shadow linked to this totally awesome account of the whole Msscribe mess in the Harry Potter fandom years ago, and I've been reading it all afternoon. I just gotta say, I'm really glad I was not paying attention to any of the stuff when it was going on. I just stayed on the Draco/Hermione threads on Fiction Alley and the Shrine of Snape boards (ah, the good old days *tear*) and had no idea any of this was going on. I just knew who Cassandra Claire and Heidi were, and that Gryffindor Tower existed, but that's it. It's fascinating reading about it now, especially in this account -- the whole thing has this really dark tone to it; it's such a good read, even though my eyes were glazing over at the IP aspects of it.

Damn you, CJ, for distracting me with my old fandom! XD
