I spent most of my day off today parked in front of Bry's computer playing D&D: Ebberon Online. Over the course of a 12 hour veg (with occasional health, social, dietary, and sanity breaks) I managed to take my cleric from just into Level 7, up to part way into Level 8. I was kind of 'meh' on it myself, but I wound up playing games with three of my housemates which probably made my introduction to the game a lot more forgiving. After about a week of solid play (and a lot of toolbar tweeking) the interface seemed fairly natural to me. When I think of it in terms of mouse & keystrokes it seems convoluted, but with practice, the interface gets pretty transparent. Graphics are even fairly good once you crank the interface up to the higher graphics options, but my computer starts to choke at that point. Someday I'll upgrade, but until then, it's low-res mode for me ( ... )
