Yesterday Mr.D & I, had to run to town to do some exchanges and shopping. I came up with this "brilliant idea" to go to a matinee. It was so busy, I was surprised to see we had to wait in a separate line to get into the theater, "after" we bought our tickets. You know the type of lines where you are trapped between ropes and lines of people?
There were two woman standing in line in front of us. One lady turned around and struck up a conversation with Mr.D. She was smiling up at him and giggling and batting her eyes, as she continued to think of questions to ask him. It started off with Mr.D's insignia on his Fire Dept. jacket and progressed from there. She then told him her name, where she lived, all about her family history and her children even about her "ex" husband living on his New sail boat with his little "chippy" girlfriend. She asked Mr.D his name, how long he worked on the fire dept, if he knew her creepy "EX" etc. etc.even where he (we) lived.
I was trying to be nice to her and kept trying to talk to her about "OUR FAMILY" and how "WE" had a new grandchild coming. How sorry "WE" were about her divorce. She only glanced at me for a second and would go back to focusing the conversation at Mr.D. and how he had been on the Fire Dept. She would giggle and her cheeks were flushed as she would touch his arm (over & over)! Well Mr.D was a little embarrassed but at the same time, was flattered by all the attention she was showing him. I was really getting (PO'd) her flirting was so obvious, even her friend was looking away embarrassed. The worst part was, she was in her early 50's and a few pounds lighter. She was wearing nicer clothes and looked pretty. She did everything but give him her phone number, which I'm not so sure, she did'nt slip in his pocket, later at the snack bar.
My question is this...Mr.D is 62 yrs. old, wears glasses, is slightly over-weight and is going bald...When are wives safe? What age is it when other woman Quit making moves on our husbands? Is there ever a time when we can just relax and enjoy our husbands and not have to worry any more? We have been married 34 years and I have spent 34 years worrying about some other woman taking my guy. Does this go right to the grave? Do I have to worry about the dead woman laying next to him in the ground too?
GRRRR...
Does it ever end?
