I don't think I've been going out as much as I have over the past few weeks since fall semester of senior year. Last Friday was karaoke, Saturday and Sunday I went up to Baltimore to visit Frank who had a conference, Wednesday I went out in College Park, and Thursday was the football game vs. Virginia Tech with extensive tailgating before. So tonight, I enjoyed a nice night in, pretty much by myself, which is exactly what I was looking for. Made some lamb chops and mashed potatoes (they were a week old, but no problems so far so I think I'm ok) watched some TV and surfed the net. I was also going to watch American Beauty, but I couldn't figure out how to turn on the DVD sound in the surround sound system, so that plan got nixed. It actually worked out well though, as then I stumbled onto the Showbiz Show, a brand new South Park that reintroduced Crab People, and Drawn Together, which I've never watched before, but I definitely like so far.
I also finally got my last check from Ruby Tuesday today, dated August 23. I have no idea what happened to it, and it was postmarked October 18 in Hartford, which I don't think it should have ever gone to, but whatever, I got it. I also got my first check from UMD, including retroactive pay back to August 7, so that was definitely nice. My savings account was getting low, so these came just in time. Now I can resume going out again tomorrow! I think I am actually going to my first house party here, mostly with geology people that work with my roommate Ryan, who are all pretty cool. Other than that though, I have absolutley no plans, so I will probably not be out of bed until one. I would like to get to Washington at some point, but my parents are coming next weekend, so I guess I'll just go with them when they get here. Or maybe if people came to visit, I would go with them too, wink, wink. My mom also booked my flight home for Xmas, on December 21, right after my last final. I probably won't be home for long, as I think I will be coming back here on January 4 or 5, but that hasn't been booked yet.
Not too much else is new here, which I feel is always the case, and always what I'm telling people, but its true. The football game last night was a lot of fun, way better than any Fairfield events as there are more students at the game here than in Fairfield's total student body, and people actually care, and the team is actually good, although not last night as they lost 28-9, but it was to the #3 team in the country, so that's not so bad I guess. The frustrating part was that they had so many opportunities to score, but it just didn't happen. I'm looking forward to the last home game on November 19 against BC, those Big East traitors and financial aid revoking bitches. I hope the Terps clobber them. The only bad part last night was on the way back from the game the traffic was horrendous, so Ryan and I stopped for some food. We first went to the Plato Diner, which was crowded and had a wait so we decided to sit at the counter, as there were two open seats on either side of a guy eating there. Now you would think that it wouldn't be a problem to move over a seat, but when Ryan asked him to, he refused to saying he was in the middle of eating. What a complete @$$%#!*! I took consolation in the fact that he was there by himself on a Thursday night reading a book. Serves him right, no wonder he doesn't have any friends with an attitude like that. Well hopefully some exciting things will happen this week so that I can write about them, but I doubt it.
