How does one manage to scrape a big chunk out of one's knuckle without even noticing? Now I have noticed, it hurts. Luckily, I am the qualified first aider here, so I prescribe myself a plaster. And a cup of tea, for shock, you understand :)
Though they did tell me when I did my training that if in any doubt, send the patient to hospital. An opportunity to skive off, perhaps, and the beauty is, no-one else here is qualified to question it if I do decide to nip off for some TLC at casualty.
