It turns out the 2000 word essay in for noon Monday is in fact a 4000 word essay!
Fuck, Fuck Fuck, Fuckitty fuck FUCK!!!
And to think I actually spent time yesterday afternoon taking words OUT cos I thought it was too long.
Well I'm definitely going to put in a big old introduction now (though what I will say in it I have no idea) I'll probably have to do more reading as well.
I should be doing that now but I am stil holding out hope that the woman in the IAA office is wrong and all this panic and wanting-to-cry feeling is unnecessary, this will mean talking to more people who are doing the same essay in my lecture at 1pm.
Why oh why can't the bastards in my department put relevant information down in an obvious place where people can see it?
The essay titles weren't online til several days after we were told they'd be available. Very little has been said about them in lectures; I mean if someone had said 4000 words thats the kinda thing I'd write down! There is no useful info on the notice boards, much of it is from last year and the rest is only helpful if you want to change modules. The infonet is rarely updated except to put up tutorial review forms (which are standard and boring). And the document on WebCT that is meant to contain information about the esay has the titles, names of lecturers and nothing else.
I remember the trouble I had to find the deadline, which I had to get from another student as the damn department is no help. Possibly I should have checked the word limit but I was so sure it was 2000 words, I'm sure i couldn't have come up with that on my own.
