(no subject)
Now I am posting things at work, because my laptop is still internet proof; it knows there's a network and will at times admit that the internet exists - but it's very reluctant to go any further. Posting at work is easier now that the massive, teetering pile of old books that had almost completely encompassed one of the office computers has been reduced to fit in a plastic box next to said computer.
It is two weeks until the wedding. I have people to phone, and things to buy, and the regular worry that I must have forgotten something of vital importance that I will not even think of until it is too late. But otherwise all is in hand.
Starting to think more about the honeymoon now, and much of the shopping is getting stuff for going away. I was listening to a German language course on my walk to the bus stop this morning, but not repeating stuff out loud as I didn't want to look like a mad person.
I have been rereading The Sandman recently, I think I started a week or so ago. I am now starting the Kindly Ones.
Heroes is a very confusing programme. We are watching the third series (2 episodes a week) on Sci Fi at the moment. Except that they pushed the time slot back to 11pm - 1am so that they could show mediocre films at 9pm, which is not compatible with work in the morning, so we record them.
It is so very confusing and seemed to go from morally grey/ambiguous to having characters hop over the morality fence so often they might as well in stall a gate. Also I cannot remember what has happened to various characters, especially those who slipped between the plot gaps (some because of the writers strike and some just because) and are no longer on screen.
Is Micah an orphan now? What happened to his cousin(s)? Is his grandmother going to have to reapply to the Enterprise to support an extra kid? How come Worf is president? What makes a US senator think he has the right to abduct a Japanese citizen off the streets of Tokyo? What on earth is Nathan/Sylar/HRG/Hiro/Mohinder doing?
I'm still watching cos there are some great moments. Admittedly I'm not sure who I'm supposed to like anymore (I'm not sure the writers know, which may be the problem). I want answers to these questions, and unlike with Lost I suspect I might get some.
