I received the Youthline Award for Outstanding Contribution to Queer Student Life.
Wow. I'm truly honoured.

[[To everyone I've worked with and whomever nominated me - Thank you!!]]

Am glad to have been a part of such an amazing experience. Regardless of whatever assumptions people make about the work I do and what I have accomplished - I have never expected to be recognized and celebrated for the work that I have done in this way. For this recognition I am truly, completely appreciative. I am encouraged by the knowledge that other people recognize and appreciate whatever I have done.

I am grateful, and extremely proud to be part of such an inspiring, amazing community.

It was a fun evening... quite an event really.

Here's the bio/description given in the program/guide for the awards:
T.J., 23, has been an impressive influence at Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU) for the past 2 years. The newly founded Rainbow Centre on the WLU campus can be attributed mainly to the efforts of T.J.'s planning and coordinating. He is tireless in promoting queer related issues at WLU, focussing heavily on trans awareness and works with the University administration to ensure the campus is an inclusive environment for all. T.J. was also one of 4 individuals to coordinate a Day of Silence at WLU which raised awareness about homophobia and transphobia.

*grin*

To have those words in print and for the world to see means a tonne to me. My award was presented and supported by Egale Canada, the Executive Director presented my award and read that little blurb. I made a short "Thank you-ish" speech. It was a very surreal experience.

...Anyway, again. Thank you to everyone who inspires me.
